Kurt April

Kurt is the Allan Gray Chair in Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion in the Allan Gray Centre for Values-Based Leadership at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town. He is also a Faculty Member of Duke Corporate Education at Duke University. He has previously been an Associate Fellow of Said Business School, University of Oxford, a Research Fellow of Ashridge-Hult, Visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University, Visiting Professor at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Econometrics, University of Amsterdam. Samir Abdelnour

Samir is Lecturer in Prosperity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at University College London’s Institute for Global Prosperity (IGP). Samir researches enterprise and humanitarian technology intervention in contexts of poverty and violence, and has undertaken extensive fieldwork in Sudan and Southern Sudan. In 2015, Samir was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship from the European Commission on the topic of 'Humanitarian Technology' for his research on improved cookstove interventions in Darfur. He is the Programme Lead on the new MSc in Prosperity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the IGP, expected to launch Oct 2020. More here.

Brenda Cooper

Brenda is a widely-published scholar who has experience working with students and academic colleagues, spanning over thirty years. Her greatest satisfaction is her former students, many of whom are now established academics, critics and writers. Brenda runs workshops for academics, including early career researchers as well as established scholars. The focus is to stimulate collaboration and to catalyse participants into completing work for publication. Yanna Romano

Yanna has been a facilitator since 2012, offering mindful movement and art processes across diverse settings including schools, wellness centres, retreats, NGO’s, small businesses and Pollsmoor prison in Cape Town. Yanna holds an honours degree in Human Geography. She is an RYT 200 yoga teacher, qualified Dance Awake facilitator and currently enrolled in a 2-year postgraduate certification training in Mindfulness-Based Facilitation through the Faculty of Medicine at Stellenbosch University. Yanna's work is inspired by her personal journey towards wholeness, which continues to be guided by her body's wisdom and creative capacity for healing. Emerge
